About The Position

Under general supervision, the RS Cabinet Maker II fabricates aircraft furniture and other wood-surfaced subassemblies using aircraft specifications, design and engineering drawings. The work requires a high level of safety, quality, attention to detail, and productivity. The employee also assists more experienced team members in developing techniques that support quality workmanship.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Two years of cabinetmaking experience.
Basic knowledge of cabinetmaking processes, products, and tools.
Computer literacy.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Ability to climb ladders and stairs, work in small restricted areas, lift up to 40 pounds, and work any shift.

Nice To Haves

Working knowledge of Gulfstream inspection and process specifications.
Experience in the aerospace industry.

Responsibilities

Fabricate furniture and other wood-surfaced subassemblies using blueprints, aircraft specifications, and design and engineering drawings.
Assemble, pin, and glue cabinet shells; install drawer slides, hinges, latches, and other hardware in subassemblies.
Apply exterior surface materials such as laminates, veneers, and cap strips.
Use stationary and handheld power tools to fabricate or disassemble furniture.
Follow safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies and use personal protective equipment to protect aircraft interiors.
Use the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks, and sign off work.
Work with lead and higher-skilled technicians to develop and implement process improvements to increase safety and reduce cost, cycle time, and labor hours using Lean Six-Sigma and other process-improvement techniques.
Perform other duties as assigned.
