About The Position

The Route Sales Driver represents The ICEE Company professionally and courteously while delivering products and promotional items to customer accounts. The role focuses on customer service, building relationships with store personnel, in-store merchandising, and point-of-sale support. Drivers work with minimal supervision and attend weekly meetings at their Service Center. A company vehicle, uniforms, cell phone, tablet, and gas card are provided. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with a 7:00 a.m. start time. The position involves loading and unloading products, maintaining account inventory, completing invoices, cleaning ICEE machines, replenishing supplies, and updating promotional materials. Drivers may also collect payment from cash-on-delivery accounts and perform general warehouse duties. The minimum pay is $22 per hour; compensation is commensurate with experience, education, skills, training, and certifications.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be at least 21 years old due to DOT requirements.
At least 3 years of experience as a certified DOT driver.
Valid driver's license that must be maintained.
Ability to lift 55 pounds or more regularly and occasionally lift more than 70 pounds.
Ability to drive more than 40% of the time, including 250 miles one day per week and 150 miles on each of the other four days.
Must have and wear steel-toed shoes.
Self-motivated and able to stay on task with minimal to no supervision.
Enthusiasm and motivation for in-store merchandising and point-of-sale work.
Ability to maintain customer, interpersonal, team, and service relationships.
Excellent organization and time-management skills.
Self-starter who can complete tasks in a timely manner.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Comfort performing basic mathematical functions.

Nice To Haves

Two years of customer service and/or route driving experience.

Responsibilities

Load and unload the company vehicle and prepare delivery inventory for the daily route.
Count inventory at the beginning and end of each shift.
Complete scheduled deliveries of products and promotional items promptly.
Discuss new products and promotions with store personnel.
Explain ICEE equipment operation to store personnel who are unfamiliar with the machines.
Clean machines, replenish cups, lids, and straws, and refresh promotional materials.
Record store-provided purchase order numbers on invoices when required.
Deliver products to cash-on-delivery accounts, collect payment, obtain a money order for cash payments, and turn it in to the Service Center manager at the end of the day.
Perform weekly vehicle checks and complete a daily vehicle inspection report for DOT vehicles.
Perform assigned warehouse duties, including cleaning, organizing, rotating product, and shipping and receiving equipment, parts, and product.
Perform other duties assigned by a supervisor.
