About The Position

The Rotor Repair Cobot Welder is responsible for operating, monitoring, and supporting collaborative robotic welding systems used in the repair and refurbishment of rotors and related components. This position ensures repaired components meet established quality, safety, and productivity standards while partnering with engineering, maintenance, quality, and operations teams to support continuous improvement of repair processes.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required.
Ability to read blueprints, repair specifications, and weld symbols.
Basic computer skills.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

One to three years of welding, manufacturing, or industrial repair experience preferred.
Experience operating robotic or automated welding equipment preferred.
MIG welding certification or equivalent experience.
Experience with collaborative robots or automated welding systems.
Experience in electric motor or rotating equipment repair.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.

Responsibilities

Operate collaborative robotic welding systems to perform rotor repair welding processes.
Load, unload, position, and secure rotor components in welding fixtures.
Inspect rotor components before and after welding to verify compliance with repair specifications.
Adjust cobot welding parameters within approved process guidelines.
Perform basic robot teach points and program touch-ups as required.
Conduct visual inspections and basic dimensional checks on completed welds.
Complete production, quality, and repair documentation accurately and on time.
Troubleshoot minor cobot, tooling, and welding issues; escalate complex issues as needed.
Perform routine maintenance and housekeeping on welding equipment and work areas.
Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and welding safety standards.
Collaborate with quality, engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to support repair objectives.
