About The Position

The Rooms Inspector works with the housekeeping team to ensure guest rooms and public spaces meet cleanliness standards. Most of the shift is spent inspecting rooms and public spaces. The role also coordinates daily workflow and duties, trains and onboards new employees, and motivates staff to achieve expected results. It includes guest engagement, coordination with the Front Desk, reporting maintenance needs, and supporting inventory and performance evaluations.

• Ability to read room numbers, dates, and basic instructions.
• Ability to move, traverse, and position oneself to reach floor corners and high places; observe conditions and detect odors; and navigate carts weighing up to 100 lbs in tight spaces.
• Ability to operate spray bottles, vacuums, mops, brooms, dust pans, scrub pads, and dusters.
• Ability to lift, carry, and position loads of at least 25 lbs.

Nice To Haves

• Six months of experience in a similar housekeeping position is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Engage with guests to ensure their stay is going well.
• Work as a team to achieve hotel cleanliness goals.
• Coordinate the day's workflow and distribution of duties.
• Inspect guest rooms against the highest quality standards.
• Hold department employees accountable for quality standards.
• Supervise and train staff to maintain cleanliness standards.
• Assist with inventory of linen and supplies.
• Assist with completing performance evaluations.
• Use judgment and experience to distribute work and assign rooms and duties.
• Coordinate activities with the Front Desk Supervisor and staff.
• Report maintenance needs.
• Ensure employees safely use and handle cleaning chemicals.
• Find coverage for callouts or increased house counts.
• Perform other related duties as requested by Management.
