Rooms Controller
About The Position
The Rooms Controller coordinates and maintains the resort’s day-to-day guest room inventory and serves as a liaison among Guest Services, Housekeeping, Engineering, and Reservations regarding room status and distribution. The role organizes room moves, controls maximum-occupancy days, and oversees upgrades. The Rooms Controller is expected to maintain the company’s quality standards in interactions with internal and external customers and follow company safety protocols, including applicable OSHA and GHS regulations. This position is at Club Wyndham Ocean Walk Resort in Daytona Beach, Florida. It is described as full-time and pays $18 per hour, plus benefits.
Requirements
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize customer service.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English.
- Knowledge of proper cash-handling procedures.
- Computer proficiency.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and maintain guest room inventory distribution for the resort.
- Consult with appropriate management about groups, unusual circumstances, and special requests.
- Ensure special reservations and accommodations are handled properly.
- Block group and daily rooms, and address special requests and VIP rooms.
- Maintain a room pool for early arrivals and special requests.
- Coordinate room status with Housekeeping and Engineering, and communicate priority arrivals to those teams and resort leadership as applicable.
- Organize room moves, control maximum-occupancy days, and supervise upgrades.
- Maintain knowledge of resort room types, facilities, and hotel occupancy trends.
- Maintain company quality standards when communicating with internal and external customers.
- Follow company safety protocols and applicable OSHA and GHS regulations.
