About The Position

The Room Service (RS) Facilitator is responsible for completing assigned duties and tasks professionally, accurately, and in a timely manner. This role requires a thorough understanding of the Room Service/Tray Monitor System and involves the assembly of RS meals for patients/customers. The facilitator must be able to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, ensuring courteous, accurate, and timely service. Responsibilities include cleaning work surfaces, equipment, and floors, assisting in transporting Room Service Carts to units, and notifying appropriate care providers of patient meal service needs. The role also involves maintaining politeness and helpfulness towards colleagues and customers, working in the dish-room or other areas as needed, and upholding DHEC/DNV regulations regarding food safety, facility upkeep, cleaning, and sanitation. Recording food service and DHEC reports, logs, and records, as well as adhering to proper personal and hand hygiene practices, are essential. The facilitator must relay any identified problems to the Coordinator/Supervisor/Management promptly and be flexible with schedule times. These responsibilities collectively contribute to meeting the nutrition, safety, and specific needs of patients and all others served. The role also includes completing any other duties assigned by a Supervisor, Coordinator, Lead, or Management.

Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED or one-year applicable food service/customer service experience.
  • Must be able to read and write.
  • Must be able to follow both verbal and written instructions regarding patient care, nutrition, and infection control policies.
  • Must have good customer service/communication skills.
  • Pushing weights up to 200# required.
  • Constant standing and walking are necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Complete assigned duties/tasks professionally, accurately, and as timely as possible.
  • Assemble RS meals for patients/customers.
  • Ensure meals/services provided to patients/customers are done courteously, accurately, and timely.
  • Clean work surface/equipment/floors in work station.
  • Assist in transporting Room Service Carts to units to deliver meals to patients.
  • Notify appropriate care providers when patient meal service needs are identified (i.e. those receiving insulin, documentation of po intake).
  • Be polite, friendly, and helpful with co-workers/patients/nurses/customers.
  • Work in the dish-room or other areas as needed.
  • Uphold all DHEC/DNV regulation, regard to food safety, facility upkeep, cleaning and sanitation.
  • Record food service and DHEC reports, logs and records.
  • Uphold proper personal and hand hygiene practices at all times.
  • Relay any identified problems to Coordinator/Supervisor/Management in a timely manner.
  • Be flexible with schedule times.
  • Complete any other duties as assigned by Supervisor, Coordinator, Lead or Management.
