The Room Service (RS) Facilitator must complete any assigned duties/tasks professionally, accurately and as timely as possible. This role requires a thorough understanding of the Room Service/Tray Monitor System and is responsible for the assembly of RS meals for patients/customers. The facilitator must be able to multi-task and work at a fast pace, ensuring that meals/services provided are courteous, accurate, and timely. Responsibilities include cleaning work surfaces, equipment, and floors in the workstation, and assisting in transporting Room Service Carts to units to deliver meals. The facilitator must notify appropriate care providers of patient meal service needs (e.g., those receiving insulin, documentation of PO intake). Politeness, friendliness, and helpfulness with co-workers, patients, nurses, and customers are essential. The role may involve working in the dish-room or other areas as needed. The facilitator must uphold all DHEC/DNV regulations regarding food safety, facility upkeep, cleaning, and sanitation, and record food service and DHEC reports, logs, and records. Proper personal and hand hygiene practices must be maintained at all times. Any identified problems must be relayed to the Coordinator/Supervisor/Management in a timely manner. Flexibility with schedule times is required. These responsibilities contribute to meeting the nutrition, safety, and specific needs of the patients and all others served. The facilitator will also complete any other duties as assigned by a Supervisor, Coordinator, Lead, or Management.
