About The Position

The Room Attendant maintains hotel rooms and the building to provide a safe and clean experience for hotel guests, associates, and vendors. This role cleans and inspects guest rooms, replenishes supplies, and follows procedures for using cleaning agents and equipment. The position is part-time at Residence Inn Birmingham Downtown at UAB.

Requirements

Ability to scrub and scour surfaces, extend arms overhead for cleaning tasks, and work in confined spaces.
Willingness to help coworkers with their duties and work as part of a team.
Knowledge of chemical cleaning agents and the operation of various cleaning equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to push and/or pull equipment weighing up to 100 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to adapt communication style for different audiences, including supervisors, coworkers, and the public.

Responsibilities

Clean bathtubs, toilets, sinks, walls, mirrors, tiles, counters, and floors using appropriate cleaning tools and agents.
Follow cleaning procedures and instructions for the use of cleaning agents.
Strip and make beds and change linens; bedspreads may weigh up to 50 pounds.
Dust furniture, pictures, drawers, window ledges, and shelves.
Vacuum rooms and empty trash.
Replenish guest-room amenities, linens, and supplies.
Sign for room keys, retrieve them, take them to assigned rooms, and restock the heavy cart.
Visually inspect rooms for cleanliness and appearance and indicate when work is complete.
Follow attendance rules and maintain regular availability for work.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
