About The Position

The Roofing Field Operations PM contributes to ION Solar and Home Services by overseeing field operations for the roofing division, ensuring projects are properly staffed, completed on time, and executed to the highest quality standards. This role serves as the primary liaison between internal teams, inspectors, subcontractors, and field personnel to support successful project fulfillment across all roofing work types. The Roofing Field Operations PM is responsible for contractor and inspector performance, staffing needs, field support, and operational escalations while helping maintain an exceptional customer and partner experience.

  • 3+ years of experience in construction, roofing, or operational leadership roles.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
  • Experience in roofing, construction management, project management, or field operations strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing subcontractors, vendors, or field personnel is preferred.
  • Familiarity with residential roofing operations, insurance restoration, and contractor management is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the roofing division is appropriately staffed with inspectors, roofing contractors, and small repair technicians to support current and future workload demands.
  • Monitor fulfillment capacity and proactively address staffing shortages, contractor availability, or performance issues to prevent project delays.
  • Maintain accurate reporting related to contractor performance, staffing needs, and field operations initiatives.
  • Source, evaluate, negotiate, and onboard subcontractors and field personnel, including maintaining contractor records and team contact information.
  • Own contractor and inspector quality by reviewing feedback, concerns, and performance issues and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Develop and deliver training materials and presentations for inspectors and contractors in both virtual and in-person settings.
  • Conduct routine quality audits to ensure inspections, quality assurance processes, and field standards are consistently met.
  • Serve as the primary field support resource for contractors requiring assistance with scopes of work, materials, or on-site questions.
  • Act as an escalation point for project managers after internal leadership review, providing guidance and resolution for complex project concerns.
  • Manage contractor escalations, disputes, and higher-level negotiations as necessary.
  • Source and procure specialty materials or non-standard items required to complete project scopes.
  • Support project fulfillment activities, including assisting with project management responsibilities and customer communication during periods of increased demand or operational need.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure projects are progressing efficiently and meeting established quality, timeline, and customer experience expectations.
