About The Position

Progressive Roofing is growing its team and looking for a professional individual to join as a Roofing Estimator. This role involves working with team members and clients to provide high-quality estimates for a variety of roofing systems on commercial properties. As a leading commercial roofing company, we handle a wide range of projects. We are seeking someone hands-on, open to learning about commercial roofing, or willing to perfect their existing skillset in this area.

Requirements

Must be a team player and coachable.
Solid communication skills.
Fluent in Microsoft Office suite software (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
Knowledge of office administrative procedures and standard office equipment operation.
Ability to write highly effective reports, proposals, and business correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, managers, and customers.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Willingness to travel and work with a diverse client/customer base.

Responsibilities

Attend job walks and prepare take-offs by measuring and noting all variables of the roof site, which may require multiple visits.
Analyze blueprints, specification interpretations, proposals, and other documentation to prepare material quotes, fabrication labor and construction labor requirement quotes, project pricing, and bid abstracts.
Prepare itemized lists and summaries.
Compute cost factors and prepare estimates for management purposes, including planning, organizing, scheduling work, preparing bids, selecting vendors/subcontractors, and determining cost effectiveness.
Consult with subcontractors, vendors, and other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
Collaborate with Project Managers, Purchasing, and Management in the preparation and final evaluation of bids.
Organize and manage a centralized cost estimating database and a formal process to support cost estimating, ensuring historical data is utilized.
Identify cost trends to assist management in cost reduction and process improvement.
Complete understanding of manufacturer product warranties.
Estimate prices on change orders for existing contracts.
Attend pre-construction and bid/pre-qualification meetings.
Work from blueprints and drawing specifications.
Maintain a positive rapport with property and facilities managers, general contractors, and manufacturer’s representatives.
