About The Position

The Roof Truss Support’s primary responsibility is to band bundles of roof trusses and collect and track cull material for Clayton Home Building Facilities. This role involves correctly positioning band boards and bands, operating the bander machine safely, cutting band boards to size, and banding trusses together efficiently. The team member also collects cull material from truss racks and accurately records it on a cull sheet. Other duties may be assigned.

The position requires physical work that is primarily performed standing or walking, including working in hot and cold conditions. It may involve lifting or carrying over 20 pounds, communicating and exchanging information verbally, and bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, pulling, pushing, kneeling, and crouching.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent experience.
• Understanding of basic math skills.
• Ability to read a tape measure.

Responsibilities

• Correctly place band boards and bands to ensure roof trusses are tightly banded.
• Safely operate the bander machine.
• Cut band boards to size.
• Band trusses together in a timely manner.
• Collect cull material from truss racks and accurately track it on a cull sheet.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
