About The Position

As a Rodman at LJA, Inc., you will transport and set up instruments and equipment used to survey land and prepare job sites for surveys. The Party Chief provides direction. The work includes clearing brush or trees from survey lines, laying out stakes for elevation measurements, holding a prism pole steady to help the surveyor determine elevations, measuring horizontal distances between points, and assisting with various survey equipment. Willingness to travel is required.

Requirements

• High school graduate or GED.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external clients.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Transport and set up instruments and equipment associated with surveying land and prepare the job site for survey.
• Clear brush or trees away from survey lines.
• Lay out stakes to prepare for elevation measurements.
• Hold a prism pole steady to help the surveyor determine elevations at different points.
• Measure horizontal distances between points.
• Help with various pieces of survey equipment.
• Follow direction from the Party Chief.
• Travel as needed.
