About The Position

As a Survey Technician at LJA, Inc., you will prepare metes and bounds descriptions for boundary surveying projects, exhibits, and various mapping products. The role involves gathering and reviewing survey information, preparing data for construction staking, and creating topographic and contour maps.

Requirements

• Surveyor-in-Training certification by the Florida Board of Land Surveying, or Level II Certified Survey Technician certification.
• 7–10 years of survey experience.
• Project scheduling experience.
• CADD experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external clients.

• DOT experience.

Responsibilities

• Gather data used to create topographical maps.
• Compile information necessary to stake construction projects using engineering plans.
• Compare survey computations with applicable standards to determine whether data is adequate.
• Collect information for new surveys from source maps, previous survey data, photographs, computer records, and other relevant sources.
• Prepare topographic and contour maps of surveyed land, including site features and relevant charts, drawings, and survey notes.
• Prepare metes and bounds descriptions for boundary surveying projects, exhibits, and various mapping products.
