About The Position

As a Project Survey Tech at LJA Inc., you will measure land features, property boundaries, elevations, utilities, roadways, and construction layouts. The role combines field and office duties to gather and analyze geographic and site data. It also provides an opportunity to build the knowledge and skills needed to move into project management roles.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree, completed or in progress, in surveying, mapping, photogrammetry, or another qualified major from an ABET-accredited college or university.
Surveyor-in-Training certification from the relevant state board.
Level II Certified Survey Technician certification.
3–5+ years of CADD experience.
Experience with project scheduling.
Solid proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external clients.

Nice To Haves

Experience working with government or regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities

Prepare metes and bounds descriptions for boundary surveying projects, exhibits, and mapping products.
Gather data for the creation of topographical maps.
Compile information needed to stake construction projects using engineering plans.
Compare survey computations with applicable standards to determine whether data is adequate.
Collect information for new surveys using source maps, previous survey data, photographs, computer records, and other relevant information.
Perform boundary survey calculation analysis and final map checking.
Abstract title data and support client relations.
Build knowledge and skills for progression into project management roles.
