About The Position

ABC Home & Commercial Services is seeking a Residential Rodent Pest Control Technician in the immediate San Antonio area. The role provides residential pest control services and requires professional conduct, excellent customer service, and respect for customers’ property. The technician listens to customer concerns, recommends treatments and prevention solutions, identifies pests and their sources, and applies extermination methods to eliminate pests and help maintain pest-free homes. This is a commission-based role with opportunities to increase earnings through productivity and leads for additional services. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with one Saturday per month and one fifth Saturday per year; hours are described as “start to finish job.” The position involves working indoors and outdoors, including roofs, heights, ladders, and crawlspaces, sometimes in extreme temperatures. The technician must follow company procedures and Texas Department of Agriculture requirements, maintain licensing requirements, and attend continuing education provided by ABC. Employment is subject to pre-employment screening, including drug screening, physical and physical performance evaluation, criminal background checks, and a seven-year motor vehicle report review. A Texas Department of Agriculture background check is also required before a pest license can be issued.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license with an issue date at least five years before the application date; must remain active and be insurable.
Ability to work on roofs, at heights, on ladders, and in crawlspaces.
Dependability, discipline, and a desire to work year-round.
Ability to work independently and cooperatively, and to manage specialized work efficiently and competently.
Ability to follow guidelines and procedures established by ABC and the Texas Department of Agriculture.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
Ability to work indoors and/or outdoors for extended periods, sometimes in extreme temperatures.
Ability to work at least one Saturday per month.
Ability to prioritize work, perform under pressure, and maintain composure with irate customers.
Proficiency using electronics, including a company phone and software.
Must complete applicable pre-employment screenings and background checks.

Nice To Haves

Previous pest control experience is preferred but not required.
Experience working with routes and service stops and meeting route deadlines.

Responsibilities

Listen to customers’ pest control concerns and suggest appropriate treatments or solutions.
Identify pests and their sources, determine solutions to eliminate them, and recommend prevention measures.
Apply chemicals or mix liquid, powder, or gas solutions and use other extermination techniques in and around homes or buildings.
Work indoors and outdoors for extended periods, sometimes in extreme temperatures, and work on roofs, at heights, on ladders, and in crawlspaces.
Prioritize workload, work under pressure, and handle irate customers while maintaining composure.
Maintain requirements set by the Texas Department of Agriculture licensing authority and attend continuing education courses provided by ABC.
Maintain a positive attitude with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.
Use company electronics, including a phone and software, to perform job-related tasks efficiently.
Provide customer service and professional care for customers’ property.
Submit leads for additional services through ABC’s Lead Now program as applicable.
