About The Position

The Robotics Program Head Coach/Coordinator for 5th-8th grades at Heritage Christian School is responsible for supervising and coordinating all designated Robotics Program team matters. This role requires a Christian with an authentic relationship with Jesus Christ, who agrees with the HCS Statement of Faith, Charter of Core Values, and Employee Covenant. The employee must establish positive relationships within the HCS community, demonstrate a passion for God and students, and exhibit professional discernment and good judgment. They will serve as a Godly example, address concerns appropriately, and work collaboratively with administration, volunteers, and parents, representing Christ and HCS professionally.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma is required.
  • Must be a Christian with an authentic and a mature personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Nice To Haves

  • A Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field is desired.
  • Prior experience working with school aged students is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in recruitment/outreach opportunities to attract new Robotics Program participants and coaches, assists with leading and attends student/parent meetings.
  • Assist in finding and training Robotics Program coaches.
  • Ensure all coordinators, coaches and volunteers have followed the HCS Volunteer application process.
  • Train mentors and communicate the HCS protocols regarding student safety, oversee mentor conduct is followed, assure compliance with all competition rules and regulations with the highest possible level of programmatic integrity, promote a harassment-free environment, and maintain proper organization/storage of school-owned equipment/materials.
  • Document and report any/all behavioral concerns to the Robotics Director within 12 hours of the incident, including a plan for resolution; incorporate HCS’ Discipleship plan into mentor training and student programing.
  • Assist with internal and external communication regarding the Robotics program.
  • Submit to the Robotics Program Director a beginning of the year report including: a. List of participants by team, including all Robotics Program Coaches, Coordinators and Robotics team members b. Summary of budgetary needs c. Practice schedule, including dates, times and locations d. Verify each student’s eligibility to participate in activities with building principals
  • Submit to the Robotics Program Director a year-end report including: a. List of participants b. Summary of budgetary purchases c. Team growth c. Recommendations for improvements
  • Assist with registration, organization and overseeing competitions held on the HCS campus as well as off-site events and attend all on campus Robotics events for said team.
  • Organize, attend and oversee meetings, practices, scrimmages and competitions held on the HCS campus as well as off site tournaments.
  • Assist with scheduling student representatives to participate in the Robotics Program display at all Open House events and oversee the updating of the Open House Robotics display as needed.
