About The Position

Lincoln Electric Automation is seeking a Robot Technician II to support the build, startup, programming, and troubleshooting of robotic welding and automation systems. This hands-on manufacturing role works closely with engineering and customers to ensure successful installation, operation, and optimization of automated manufacturing equipment. The position is based in Chattanooga and requires approximately 25% travel.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2–3+ years of experience as a Robot Technician or Automation Technician.
• Experience with industrial robots and robotic welding systems.
• Knowledge of robotic welding, material handling, or spot-welding applications.
• Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Experience using AC/DC voltmeters and troubleshooting industrial equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-focused mindset.
• Ability to travel approximately 25%.

Nice To Haves

• Technical school training or equivalent experience.
• RIA Basic Robot Technician certification.

Responsibilities

• Build, assemble, and modify robotic welding cells.
• Perform robot touch-ups, basic programming, and troubleshooting.
• Read and interpret blueprints, weld prints, and assembly drawings.
• Perform cut and etch evaluations and tooling adjustments.
• Shim tooling and make corrections based on CMM data.
• Troubleshoot robot, sensor, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues.
• Support HMI, PLC, and robot interaction within automated cells.
• Perform MIG welding and basic machining tasks.
• Assist with customer installations, tooling changes, and startups.
• Work independently at customer sites to resolve issues and complete projects.
