The Roadway Programs Technician 1 position with the Department of Transportation offers an exciting opportunity to support key maintenance efforts across Wayne County. Requirements

  • One year of experience as a Technical Assistant (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)
  • One year of experience in analysis of data utilized in planning and scheduling of work, materials and equipment and graduation from high school or GED equivalent
  • An Associate's Degree in a field of Business Administration, Computer Science, Highway Engineering Technology or other closely related program
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
  • You must meet the PA residency requirement.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
  • A conditional offer of employment will require submission of criminal history reports.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor roadside programs, meet with contractors, and verify that safety standards and proper procedures are followed
  • Track herbicide materials and storeroom supplies to ensure correct storage, distribution, and availability
  • Collect crash data, document site conditions, enter information into systems, and maintain required records
  • Review contractor work, schedule services, verify completion, and ensure compliance with safety expectations
  • Run and review maintenance reports, assist with SAP transactions, and support planning activities
  • Process invoices, research discrepancies, manage surplus items, and assist with ordering and recordkeeping
