About The Position

As a Roadway Programs Technician 1 with the Department of Transportation, you will assist with key inventory and maintenance planning tasks. The role provides valuable experience with data review and program support. Become part of a group that works hard to keep county operations effective and efficient! This role supports daily maintenance operations and inventory activities for the county organization. It also assists in analyzing work plans, reviewing data, and helping ensure that program goals are met.

Requirements

  • One year of experience as a Technical Assistant (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • One year of experience in analysis of data utilized in planning and scheduling of work, materials and equipment and graduation from high school or GED equivalent; or
  • An Associate's Degree in a field of Business Administration, Computer Science, Highway Engineering Technology or other closely related program; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within three months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
  • Meet the PA residency requirement.
  • Be able to perform essential job functions.

Nice To Haves

  • Opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, after successful completion of probationary period.
  • Must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania to telework.
  • Option to report to the headquarters office in Hyde if unable to telework.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain storeroom records and ensure materials in the system match physical quantities on hand
  • Review labor, material, equipment, and funding needs to help maintain balanced work plans
  • Evaluate information in database systems to confirm accuracy and resolve issues
  • Assist in receiving, storing, and issuing bulk materials and supplies for maintenance operations
  • Support inventory control efforts and complete goods receipt entries in SAP for incoming materials
  • Process invoices and track reports and complaints related to county operations

Benefits

  • Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $41,506.00 (before taxes).
