About The Position
Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Road Mechanic/Technician to perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on rental equipment safely and effectively to minimize downtime. The fleet varies by location and primarily includes aerial work platforms and general construction tools and equipment. Specialty locations may also have large-scale power generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil and gas-related equipment. The position offers work on a variety of equipment and makes in challenging remote locations, opportunities to develop skills for a career in service or operations management, and work with a safety-focused team. The role may require the employee to provide mechanic’s tools of the trade. Physical demands include bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors or outdoors as required. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
- Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
- Ability to be flexible with changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- The physical ability to bend, squat, crouch, reach, lift 50 pounds or more, and work indoors or outdoors as required.
Nice To Haves
- Some trade school or equivalent training is desired.
- Three to five years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment, or specialty lines equipment such as large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC, or oil and gas equipment is strongly preferred.
- A CDL license may be required in some locations.
- Bilingual ability in Spanish or another language may be required based on location needs.
