About The Position

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Road Mechanic/Technician to perform preventive maintenance, diagnose equipment issues, and make repairs safely and effectively to minimize downtime. The fleet varies by location and primarily includes aerial work platforms, general construction tools, and equipment. Specialty locations may also operate large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil and gas-related equipment. The role may involve servicing a variety of equipment makes and models in remote locations and working indoors or outdoors as required.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
Knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
May need to provide mechanic’s tools of the trade.
Bilingual ability (Spanish or another language) may be required depending on location.
Able to bend, squat, crouch, reach, and lift 50 pounds or more.

Nice To Haves

Some trade school or equivalent training is desired.
Three to five years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment, or specialty equipment such as large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC, or oil and gas equipment is strongly preferred.
A CDL may be required in some locations.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance on rental equipment.
Diagnose equipment issues and make repairs safely and effectively to avoid downtime.
Work on equipment in indoor or outdoor settings as required by the job.
