About The Position

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Road Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on equipment in challenging remote locations. This role is crucial for minimizing equipment downtime and ensuring the safest, most effective operation. The fleet includes Aerial Work Platforms, general construction tools and equipment, and potentially large-scale power generators, pumps, HVAC systems, and oil/gas related equipment depending on the location. This position offers opportunities for skill development and a career track in service or operations management within a safety-focused environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3-5 years of mechanic experience with diesel equipment, heavy construction equipment or specialty lines equipment (large-scale generators, pumps, HVAC or Oil & Gas equipment) strongly preferred.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
• Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting fundamentals.
• Ability to be flexible with changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more.
• Working indoors/outdoors when required by the job.

Nice To Haves

• Some trade school or equivalent training desired.
• 21 years of age & CDL license may be required in some locations.
• Bilingual (Spanish or Other) may be required based on location needs.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
