About The Position

Quixote is a leading provider of production services for the entertainment industry. Quixote rents production trailers, trucks, lighting and grip and other equipment to support a wide range of productions including long-form television and feature film, as well as high-end photo shoots and commercials. At Quixote, everyone on set is a VIP. Quixote Studios is looking for a full-time Mechanic to join our transportation team. The purpose of this role is to perform mechanical repairs, oil changes on vehicles, DOT Inspections, and assist with the day-to-day shift operations. Ability to perform light and heavy manual labor as well as work special hours as required.

Requirements

  • 2+ years Automotive Technician experience
  • Must provide and maintain their own tools necessary to perform the essential functions of the role
  • Experience, knowledge and skills of the methods, materials and equipment used in the maintenance and repair of various types of equipment and power-driven tools
  • Working knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade
  • Proficient math skills in unit of measurement and multiplication, division, addition, subtraction
  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions
  • Ability to analyze and repair mechanical failures
  • Must engage work with a high sense of urgency and be detail oriented.
  • Ability to work effectively and establish good working relationships with internal employees and external clients
  • Attentive to details - accurate and thorough
  • Ability to work independently, safely, and efficiently and be a team player.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical repairs on both light, medium, and heavy equipment such as trucks, trailers and lot equipment in a timely manner.
  • Maintain and verify vehicle functional condition by conducting inspections, repairing engine failures, performing oil changes, repairing mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions, replacing parts and components, and repairing body damage.
  • Diagnose and repair generators, thermostats, water heater, plumbing and electrical systems.
  • Disassemble machinery or equipment to remove parts and make repairs.
  • Inspect equipment, analyze mechanical/operational errors, and report all findings to Fleet Service Manager.
  • Maintain all vehicles, equipment, generator, lot and building needs.
  • Perform all interior/exterior repairs, generator maintenance and service, and other minor repairs in a timely manner.
  • Follow and adhere to safety rules, regulations, and proper use of safety equipment that pertains to each job skill and qualification.
  • Meet with supervisor to review information pertinent to the job performance, such as daily assignments, business levels, pending projects, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
