RN - General Surgery & Medical Acute - La Jolla - Nights
About The Position
This is a full-time Registered Nurse position in the General Surgery & Medical Acute unit at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla. The role is 72 hours per pay period (every two weeks) on a 12-hour night shift, with variable days that include weekends and holidays. The unit is a 36-bed general surgery and medical cardiac unit (5P) in the Prebys Cardiovascular Institute. Its patient populations include bariatric, gynecological, colorectal, and medical cardiac patients. The RN monitors and recognizes patient vital signs, symptoms, telemetry readings, and EKGs for abnormal heart rhythms or changes, including Afib, heart blocks, and vtach/fib. The RN collaborates with surgeons, physician assistants, cardiologists, general medical practitioners, family nurse practitioners, charge nurses, nurse assistants, and other care team members to provide optimum patient care. Eligible candidates may receive up to $7,000 in new-hire incentives, subject to stated eligibility and retention conditions.
Requirements
- Nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing.
- One year of recent RN experience.
- California Registered Nurse License.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS).
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's degree in nursing.
- One year of RN experience in acute Med/Surg.
- EPIC EHR experience.
Responsibilities
