RN - Surgery (OR) - Varied shift - La Jolla
About The Position
Full-time, benefited Operating Room Registered Nurse position located in the new tower at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla. The role has a 12-hour varied shift that may be 0630–1900, 1800–0630, or 1030–2300. The night shift does not require call; the other shifts require weekend availability and participation in a call rotation. The OR department has 16 operating rooms, including four open-heart suites, two hybrid ORs, three robotic rooms, one eye room, and a dedicated trauma team. The department performs 40–50 surgeries daily in a dynamic, fast-paced environment that encourages growth and professional development. The position is eligible for a $4,000 new-hire bonus and $3,000 relocation assistance, subject to the stated eligibility and retention conditions. Internal candidates and rehires who left Scripps less than three years ago are not eligible for hiring incentives. Retention incentive eligibility requires remaining in the original hired FTE status and shift (if specified in the offer letter), department or specialty, and job title. Transfers to other locations are reviewed case by case and may result in forfeiture of the remaining incentive unless otherwise noted in the offer letter.
Requirements
- California Registered Nurse license.
- One year of RN experience circulating in the Operating Room.
- Current American Heart Association BLS provider certification.
- Ability to speak, read, and follow instructions in English.
- Ability to demonstrate positive behaviors.
- Registered Nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's degree in nursing.
- Experience in general, robotics, trauma, orthopedic, and gynecological surgeries.
- Trauma experience.
- CNOR.
