About The Position
The Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) supports the emergency department or urgent care by performing basic emergency medical procedures as directed. Under supervision, the ED Tech assists nurses and physicians in performing their duties. The role includes assessing vital signs, applying thermal treatments, providing non-sterile soaks, applying simple dressings and splints, and collecting stool and urine samples. The ED Tech may also transport patients and provide coverage for the unit secretary. The position is at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla Emergency Services and Level I Trauma Center, located inside the Prebys Cardiovascular Institute.
Requirements
- State-issued California Certified EMT or CNA.
- BLS Healthcare Provider certification through the American Heart Association.

- One year of experience in a healthcare setting.
- Experience in emergency services.
Responsibilities
