About The Position

The RN provides direct nursing care in accordance with the healthcare organization’s established policies, procedures, and protocols. This role is based in the 4 North Postpartum unit at Fairview Hospital in Cleveland. The posted schedule includes 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.–11:30 p.m. shifts.

The nurse implements and monitors patient care plans, monitors and communicates patient condition, coordinates care among disciplines, carries out physician and nursing orders, and works with the healthcare team on discharge planning. The position requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment. Ongoing professional development through education and clinical nursing study is expected.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• External applicants must have two years of recent related nursing experience.
• Successfully pass all required prescreen competency assessments.
• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross must be presented upon hire.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Licensed military RN experience will be considered.

Responsibilities
