Per Diem RN - ICU/Evening and Nights

About The Position

Bristol Health is hiring a per diem Registered Nurse for the ICU, with evening and night shifts. The nurse provides patient care in keeping with Bristol Health’s commitment to compassionate, quality service and its values of Communication, Accountability, Respect, and Empathy (C.A.R.E.). The role includes completing general and unit-specific training and competencies, and may involve duties outside normal responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

BSN or an associate degree.
Current Connecticut RN license in good standing.
At least one year of clinical nursing experience in an acute or subacute care environment.
Basic Life Support (BLS), ACLS, and PALS.
Complete Health Care Provider CPR with BLS from the American Heart Association.
Strong team skills.
Successfully complete the unit-based competency package and unit-specific requirements.
Meet physical requirements, including repetitive movement and lifting more than 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the workday.
Vision and hearing acuity correctable to normal; acute sense of smell; ability to communicate verbally so the average person can comprehend.

Nice To Haves

Certification from a professional nursing body is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide nursing care to patients in the ICU.
Complete general orientation and required annual Fire/Safety/Infection Control training.
Complete required training programs and unit-based competency requirements.
Perform other duties outside normal responsibilities as needed.
