About The Position

Provides direct and indirect patient care in the assigned care setting. Communicates and collaborates with physicians, leadership, coworkers, and multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes. Delivers high-quality patient care using critical thinking, nursing processes, decision-making, compassion, integrity, respect, and empathy. Preserves patients’ autonomy, dignity, and rights, and restores health whenever possible. Performs general nursing duties, patient education, and care prioritization, as well as other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Computer literacy.
Must live within 20 minutes of the hospital for call.
RN licensure.
BLS certification within 14 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

ACLS/PALS specialty certification.

Responsibilities

Assess patients appropriately and accurately based on their medical condition.
Understand ordered medications and administer them as prescribed.
Provide care appropriate to the patient’s condition and age, including basic self-care activities.
Formulate teaching plans based on identified learning needs, evaluate learning effectiveness, and include family in teaching as appropriate.
Use nursing knowledge to perform treatments and provide services.
Communicate and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team in providing patient care.
Assist physicians with procedures and perform services requiring technical and manual skills.
Identify and address psychosocial needs of patients and families; communicate with social services about hospital and post-discharge needs.
Use supplies, linen, and charge items cost-effectively and avoid waste.
Prioritize patient care effectively and efficiently.
Promote patient safety by reducing the risk of unnecessary harm associated with health care.
Pursue lifelong learning related to the nursing profession.
Perform other duties as assigned.
