RN / Ambulatory Virtual Nursing

Emory Healthcare•Tucker, GA

About The Position

Emory Healthcare is hiring an experienced Registered Nurse for its Telehealth Nursing department. The Virtual/Telehealth RN provides direct virtual nursing care using telecommunication technologies and virtual platforms. The role assesses and triages patients, prioritizes their needs, develops care plans in collaboration with patients, and directs them to appropriate levels of care. It also includes patient education, crisis intervention, appointment scheduling, prescription and medication issue resolution, and referrals to Emory services and other resources. The RN applies the Synergy model for Care, evidence-based nursing practices, and clinical algorithms, protocols, and guidelines to determine patient disposition and next steps. The nurse supports patients, providers, and clinical operations across practice settings, serves as a liaison between patients and providers, documents and maintains medical records, advocates for patients, and identifies and reports patient safety and quality issues. The RN may orient, train, and educate staff, students, and new team members, and performs other duties as assigned. This is a PRN/as-needed role. The telehealth team serves patients 24/7, so weekend and holiday work is required. Schedules may change to meet business needs, and flexibility is required. Training will take place onsite in Atlanta for six or more weeks. A multistate nursing license is required for this telehealth role. If assigned to work from home, the RN must meet Emory's work-from-home requirements, including reliable high-speed internet and a private, confidential workspace.
