About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) Wound Care Specialist coordinates wound care therapy as part of the total nursing care plan for patients. The specialist participates in patient and family teaching and provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient-team personnel to maintain standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. The role reports to the Director of Wound Care and includes other related duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements

• Provide credentials or documents showing graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• Hold a current Registered Nursing license for the state in which the employee is working.
• Maintain current CPR certification.
• Have at least two years of direct patient care experience.

Nice To Haves

• Certification from an approved Wound Care Certification course.
• Experience in emergency care, critical care, or ET nursing.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate wound care therapy into the total nursing care plan for patients.
• Participate in patient and family teaching.
• Work cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient-team personnel to maintain professional nursing practice standards.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
