About The Position

Delivers coordinated nursing care for a patient or assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process. Supervises and directs activities of assigned nursing staff at various levels, and coordinates care with other disciplines using critical thinking, professional and supervisory discretion, and independent judgment.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice is required.
• CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor per Adventist Health policy is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor per Adventist Health policy is required.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from an approved vendor per Adventist Health policy is required.
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale certification is required.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Acute care facility experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect relevant data about the patient’s health or situation and analyze it to determine diagnoses and care issues.
• Develop a plan of care that prescribes interventions to attain outcomes; implement the plan, coordinate care delivery, and use strategies that promote health and a safe environment.
• Evaluate progress toward outcomes and identify outcomes for the patient or the patient’s situation.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare providers to provide care in a safe, healing, humane, and caring environment.
• Provide learning opportunities and health information to patients, family members, and team members.
• Participate in discharge planning to provide continuity of care.
• Delegate appropriately and coordinate the duties of healthcare team members.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
