About The Position

Touchstone Communities is seeking an experienced RN Supervisor to lead nursing teams at the Alfredo Gonzalez Texas State Veterans Home in McAllen, Texas. The role focuses on clinical excellence, resident-centered care, regulatory compliance, and supporting nursing staff. The supervisor mentors and guides clinical team members, coordinates shift operations, and helps create a compassionate, respectful, collaborative environment for Veterans, families, and staff through the Touchstone Experience.

Requirements

• Current and valid Texas RN license or Compact State RN license.
• At least two years of long-term care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or post-acute care experience.
• Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience.
• Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent communication, coaching, and problem-solving abilities.
• Commitment to resident advocacy and quality care.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in a supervisory or charge nurse capacity.
• Experience working in Veterans homes, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or post-acute care settings.
• Knowledge of state and federal long-term care regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, guidance, and support to nursing team members during assigned shifts.
• Ensure high-quality, resident-centered care in accordance with regulatory standards and best practices.
• Monitor and evaluate resident conditions and respond promptly to clinical concerns and changes in condition.
• Serve as a resource and mentor for LVNs, CNAs, and other clinical team members.
• Promote a positive and collaborative work environment that supports engagement, retention, and professional growth.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support resident wellbeing and positive clinical outcomes.
• Assist with staffing coordination, clinical oversight, and shift operations.
• Support compliance with state, federal, and organizational policies and procedures.
• Foster meaningful connections with residents, families, and team members through the Touchstone Experience.
