About The Position

This position involves supervising and coordinating unit staffing, providing leadership, and ensuring the implementation of clinical objectives and quality patient care in the Emergency Department. The role requires assessing daily patient care needs, developing patient care assignments, and evaluating the effectiveness of patient care. The supervisor will also respond to complaints about patient care and may provide input for hiring, training, and staff development.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
ACLS obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required
Graduate of an accredited Nursing program required.
Required professional licensure/certification.
1 year of cumulative job specific experience required.

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate unit staffing and provides leadership while ensuring implementation of clinical objectives and quality patient care in assigned area.
Assign, direct, educate and monitor nursing and support staff during assigned shift.
Contribute to or perform performance evaluations of staff.
Assess daily patient care needs and develops and distribute patient care assignments, ensuring that population appropriate patient care is given.
Evaluate the effectiveness of patient care and identify any issues that affect desired patient outcomes.
Respond to complaints about patient care and manage through established channels.
May provide input for hiring, training, directing, development and evaluating of staff.
