About The Position

Home of the Innocents is seeking RN Staff Nurses to join their team at the Kosair for Kids Complex Care Center, a pediatric skilled nursing facility. This role involves leading care for medically complex children and young adults in a trauma-informed, team-driven environment. The facility offers self-scheduling options for day and night shifts, with hours available at 24, 30, or 36 per week, and requires weekend shifts/rotation. The position is described as more than just a nursing job, emphasizing the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of residents.

Requirements

  • Active, unencumbered RN license in Kentucky
  • Current CPR/BLS certification (provided if needed)
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a passion for working with children and families
  • Commitment to trauma-informed care and collaborative teamwork

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in pediatrics or long-term care

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, and implement individualized care plans for children and young adults with complex medical needs.
  • Monitor resident progress and lead clinical decision-making each shift.
  • Work collaboratively with LPNs, CNAs, Respiratory Therapists, and an interdisciplinary team.
  • Deliver compassionate, individualized nursing care ensuring health, safety, and comfort.
  • Provide tracheostomy and ventilator care (training available).
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Educate residents and families on managing medical conditions.
  • Foster a nurturing, trauma-informed environment.
