About The Position

Home of the Innocents is seeking RN Staff Nurses to join their team at the Kosair for Kids Complex Care Center, a pediatric skilled nursing facility. This role involves leading care for medically complex children and young adults in a trauma-informed, team-driven environment. The facility offers self-scheduling to support work-life balance, with day shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM and night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM. Positions are available for 24, 30, or 36 hours per week, and weekend shifts/rotation are required.

Requirements

Active, unencumbered RN license in Kentucky
Current CPR/BLS certification (provided if needed)
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a passion for working with children and families
Commitment to trauma-informed care and collaborative teamwork

Experience in pediatrics or long-term care

Responsibilities

Assess, plan, and implement individualized care plans for children and young adults with complex medical needs.
Monitor resident progress and lead clinical decision-making every shift.
Work alongside LPNs, CNAs, Respiratory Therapists, and an interdisciplinary team.
Deliver compassionate, individualized nursing care to children with complex medical needs, ensuring their health, safety, and comfort.
Lead care planning by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized treatment approaches.
Provide tracheostomy and ventilator care (training is available).
Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
Educate residents and families on managing medical conditions to promote long-term health outcomes.
Foster a nurturing, trauma-informed environment that supports the healing and emotional well-being of every resident.
