RN Staff Nurse - Emergency
About The Position
The RN Staff Nurse provides patient care in an assigned department or unit and participates as a member of the health care team, in cooperation with and under the direction of the clinical manager or designee. The nurse works within the relevant Standards and Scope of Practice for the Registered Nurse and Legacy Health System patient-care standards, including standards for patient assessment and transfer. Responsibilities include assessing, analyzing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care. This position is in the Adult Emergency Room at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in North Portland. The 29-bed department is open 24 hours a day and serves approximately 44,000 patients annually. Legacy Emanuel is a Level 1 Pediatric and Adult Trauma Center, comprehensive Stroke Center, and home of the Oregon Burn Center. Emergency staff are trauma-ready trained, and some nurses are trained as Trauma Resuscitation Nurses.
Requirements
- Education as required by licensure.
- One year of registered nursing experience, or completion of the Legacy Health RN Residency program or an equivalent nursing program in content, curriculum, and duration.
- Demonstrated positive interpersonal and communication skills with colleagues, patients, families, physicians, and the community.
- Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions.
- Current applicable state RN license.
- AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers.
Nice To Haves
- BSN or degree in progress is strongly preferred.
- Emergency RN experience is preferred.
