About The Position

The RN Staff Nurse provides patient care within an assigned department or unit and participates as a member of the health care team, working in cooperation with and under the direction of the clinical manager or designee. The nurse follows applicable Registered Nurse Standards and Scope of Practice and Legacy Health System patient care standards, including standards for patient assessment and transfer.

Legacy nursing emphasizes care for patients and their families. Nurses serve as advocates, communicators, problem-solvers, and caregivers. This position is at Legacy Silverton Medical Center, which serves communities in Marion, Clackamas, and Polk Counties and nearby rural and larger communities. The center is located in Silverton, Oregon, approximately 40 miles south of Portland.

Requirements

• Education as required by licensure.
• At least one year of registered nursing experience, or completion of the Legacy Health RN Residency program or a nursing program equivalent in content, curriculum, and duration.
• Additional clinical experience requirements may vary depending on the department.
• Demonstrated positive interpersonal and communication skills with colleagues, patients, families, physicians, and the community.
• Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions.
• Current applicable state RN license.
• AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.

Nice To Haves

• BSN or a degree in progress is strongly preferred.
• BSN may be required for specific assignments; experienced RNs without a BSN may be hired based on clinical experience with approval of the site CNO.
