RN Staff Nurse - Med Surg ICU
About The Position
The RN Staff Nurse provides patient care within an assigned department or unit and participates as a member of the health care team, working in cooperation with and under the direction of the clinical manager or designee. The role follows the applicable Registered Nurse Standards and Scope of Practice and Legacy Health System patient care standards, including standards for patient assessment and transfer. The nurse assesses, analyzes, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care. This position is in the 16-bed Medical/Surgical ICU at Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center, a modern hospital serving Southwest Washington.
Requirements
- Current applicable state RN license.
- AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers.
- One year of ICU experience.
- One year of registered nursing experience, or completion of the Legacy Health RN Residency program or an equivalent nursing program in content, curriculum, and duration.
- Demonstrated positive interpersonal and communication skills with colleagues, patients, families, physicians, and the community.
- Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions.
- Additional clinical experience requirements may vary depending on the department.
Nice To Haves
- BSN or a degree in progress is strongly preferred.
- BSN may be required for specific assignments; experienced RNs without a BSN may be hired based on clinical experience with approval of the site CNO.
