About The Position

Legacy Health’s nursing philosophy focuses on patients and their families. Nurses serve as advocates, communicators, problem-solvers, and caregivers, and are respected members of the health care team. This position is in Medical/Surgical Unit 25 at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center, a 29-bed unit caring for adult patients. The primary patient populations include cardiac, endocrine, gastrointestinal, and pulmonary disorders. The unit also provides overflow care for surgical and trauma patients.

Requirements

• Education as required by licensure.
• One year of registered nursing experience, or completion of the Legacy Health RN Residency program or a nursing program equivalent in content, curriculum, and duration.
• Additional clinical experience requirements may vary depending on the department.
• Demonstrated positive interpersonal and communication skills with colleagues, patients, families, physicians, and the community.
• Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions.
• Current applicable state RN license.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification from the American Heart Association.

Nice To Haves

• BSN or degree in progress is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care within an assigned department or unit.
• Function as a member of the health care team in collaboration with and under the direction of the clinical manager or designee.
• Adhere to the relevant Standards and Scope of Practice for the Registered Nurse.
• Perform all aspects of the nursing process: assess, analyze, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Follow established Legacy Health System patient care standards, including standards for patient assessment and patient transfer.
