RN Staff Nurse - Medical/Surgical Unit 25
About The Position
The RN Staff Nurse provides patient-centered nursing care on Medical/Surgical Unit 25 at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in North Portland. The 29-bed unit cares for adult patients, primarily with cardiac, endocrine, gastrointestinal, and pulmonary disorders, and also provides overflow care for surgical and trauma patients. The nurse works as a member of the health care team in collaboration with and under the direction of the clinical manager or designee, and follows the applicable standards and scope of practice for a Registered Nurse. Nursing care includes assessing, analyzing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in accordance with Legacy Health System standards, including patient assessment and transfer standards.
Requirements
- Current applicable state RN license.
- BLS for Healthcare Providers certification from the American Heart Association.
- One year of registered nursing experience, or completion of the Legacy Health RN Residency program or a nursing program equivalent in content, curriculum, and duration.
- Additional clinical experience requirements may vary depending on the department.
- Demonstrated positive interpersonal and communication skills with colleagues, patients, families, physicians, and the community.
- Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions.
Nice To Haves
- BSN or degree in progress is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities

- Perform all aspects of the nursing process: assess, analyze, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Follow established Legacy Health System patient care standards, including standards for patient assessment and patient transfer.
