RN Staff Nurse - Medical/Surgical Unit 25
About The Position
The RN Staff Nurse provides patient care in an assigned department or unit and works as a member of the health care team in collaboration with and under the direction of the clinical manager or designee. The nurse follows the applicable Registered Nurse Standards and Scope of Practice and performs the nursing process, including assessing, analyzing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care. The role follows Legacy Health System patient care standards, including standards for patient assessment and patient transfer. The position is in the Medical/Surgical Unit at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in North Portland. Legacy nursing emphasizes patient- and family-centered care, with nurses serving as advocates, communicators, problem-solvers, and caregivers.
Requirements
- Education as required by licensure.
- One year of registered nursing experience or completion of the Legacy Health RN Residency program or a nursing program equivalent in content, curriculum, and duration.
- Demonstrated positive interpersonal and communication skills with colleagues, patients, families, physicians, and the community.
- Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions.
- Current applicable state RN license.
- BLS for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association.
Nice To Haves
- BSN or a degree in progress is strongly preferred.
- Additional clinical experience requirements may vary depending on the department.
