About The Position

Provides direct patient care in a designated specialty unit in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and the organization’s policies, values, and mission. The position is based in Miramar, Florida, in the Emergency Room, with an 11 a.m.–11 p.m. schedule. The role requires critical thinking, effective communication, decisive judgment, minimal supervision, and the ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited nursing program.
• At least one year of nursing experience.
• Registered Nurse license for Florida or a compact multistate RN license.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross, or an applicable grace-period credential.
• ACLS certification is required for Emergency Department nurses; accepted credentials include American Heart Association or Red Cross certification, or an applicable grace-period credential.
• Critical thinking and effective communication skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Responsibilities

• Delegate patient care effectively to ancillary personnel.
• May precept student nurses and new hires.
• Evaluate the learning needs of patients and/or families and provide education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including disposition, referral, and spiritual and/or psychosocial support needs.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
• Monitor, document, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
