About The Position

The HCA Healthcare Residency Program at HCA Florida Gulf Coast Hospital is a paid, year-long program for graduate nurses designed to support the transition from nursing school to registered nurse practice. Residents receive hands-on experience and support from nurse educators, experienced nurses, and fellow residents, developing clinical and critical thinking skills in a hospital environment. The program includes advanced clinical training in a specialty area, monthly educational sessions, preceptorship with a facility preceptor, hands-on simulations to measure and evaluate skills, mentoring from experienced nurse leaders, and collaborative work on an evidence-based practice project. Cohort start dates are February 8, March 22, and April 26, 2027. Available specialties include Med/Surg, Oncology, Orthopedics, Post-Surgical Care, Progressive/Transitional Care, and limited positions in ICU and ER. The RN Resident coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in line with department requirements and applicable state and specialty nursing standards. Working with medical providers and other care-team members, the resident provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models.
