About The Position

This is a 70% FTE position for a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Gastro/Endo - Procedure department at University Hospital in Madison, WI. The role involves providing patient care throughout the procedure process, including triage, preparation, intra-procedure care, and recovery. The RN will be an active member of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating on patient care plans. The position is Monday - Friday with flexible start times between 6:30 am and 10:30 am, and includes on-call responsibilities. Hours may vary based on departmental needs.

Requirements

• 6 months of relevant clinical nursing experience
• Previous moderate sedation experience
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state(s) where patients are receiving care or may work as eligible per state licensing regulations Upon Hire
• Basic Life Support/CPR Upon Hire
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
• Additional years of relevant clinical nursing experience
• Prior involvement in clinical procedures in area of specialty, including successful work or involvement in other hospital-wide project work
• Experience in an academic medical setting
• Previous moderate sedation experience
• Certification in area of specialty

Responsibilities

• Provide care, including patient triage, procedure preparation, intra-procedure care, and post-procedure recovery phases.
• Be an active member of the multidisciplinary team and collaborate in the development, execution, and evaluation of the multidisciplinary plan of care or critical pathway.
