About The Position

This is a 100% FTE position for a Registered Nurse (RN) working at the Ambulatory Procedure Center within University Hospital in Madison, WI. The schedule is Monday – Friday with rotating start times between 5:30 am and 10:30 am, and includes a minimal call requirement for weekends and holidays. The RN will be an integral part of a surgical team performing multispecialty procedures and will have the opportunity to circulate and scrub. Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) Required
  • 6 months of RN experience Required
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state(s) where patients are receiving care or may work as eligible per state licensing regulations Upon Hire Required
  • Basic Life Support/CPR Upon Hire Required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Upon Hire Required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) Preferred
  • Experience working pre/post operatively with varied surgical patient populations Preferred
  • Emergency nursing, critical care, medical/surgical, or ambulatory surgery center experience Preferred
  • Moderate sedation and cardiac monitoring experience Preferred
  • 1 year or more of RN experience Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Be an integral part of a surgical team that performs multispecialty procedures.
  • Assume the overall responsibility for management of the operating room to which you are assigned.
  • Have the opportunity to circulate, as well as scrub.
