About The Position

Northwest Surgery Center is hiring a RN PreOp/PACU. Conveniently located on the Ascension Seton Northwest Hospital campus, the center has 7 OR rooms and 1 Procedure room. They perform outpatient surgical procedures in ENT, General, Ophthalmology, Orthopedic, Pain Management, Podiatry, and Urology. This position requires weekdays only, with no holidays, weekends, or call. Some early mornings and later evenings may be required, and the schedule is subject to change based on the surgical schedule and flow of the day. The PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, providing patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. They may assist physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, including conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate. The role will provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
  • Active RN license in the state
  • BLS and ACLS Required
  • PALS if required by the center
  • Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment
  • Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years of experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred
