About The Position

Northern Monmouth Regional Surgery Center is seeking a full-time PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse. The center is accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care and focuses on providing a high-quality, service-oriented environment for surgical procedures. The PACU Registered Nurse is responsible for ensuring continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continuous evaluation of their condition, and maintaining patient safety, comfort, and privacy. This role may involve assisting physicians in procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques. The nurse will provide comprehensive patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, for patients recovering from general anesthesia and/or sedation, in preparation for discharge.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
  • Active RN license in the state New Jersey
  • BLS and ACLS Required
  • Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment
  • Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written

Nice To Haves

  • PALS if required by the center
  • 2 years experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients

  • Provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation; assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge
