RN PreOp PACU
About The Position
Texan Surgery Center is seeking a PreOp/PACU Registered Nurse. The center features 3 OR rooms and specializes in outpatient ophthalmological surgical procedures. This role involves providing continuous, high-quality nursing care to all patients, with an emphasis on evaluating patient conditions, ensuring safety, comfort, and privacy. The nurse may also assist physicians in procedure rooms, performing tasks such as conscious sedation and utilizing sterile techniques. Comprehensive patient care for individuals recovering from general anesthesia or sedation is a key aspect, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for discharge.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
- Active RN license in the state
- BLS and ACLS Required
- PALS if required by the center
- Ability to make decisions based on nursing judgment
- Able to prioritize and organize workload to meet the needs of patients and the unit
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written
Nice To Haves
- 2 years of experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide continuity and quality nursing care for all patients
- Continually evaluate the patient's condition
- Provide patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times
- Assist the physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, including conscious sedation, and utilizing sterile techniques as deemed appropriate
- Provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation
- Perform assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge
