About The Position

North Denver Endoscopy Center is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse for a Pre-Op/PACU/Pain role. This position involves organizing and directing activities according to nursing standards and regulatory guidelines, caring for pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. The Pre-op RN will admit, evaluate, assess, and educate patients for procedures or surgery, perform CLIA waived laboratory testing, and communicate patient information to physicians. The PACU RN will plan, coordinate, and oversee patient care in the PACU department, ensuring adherence to nursing standards and center policies, and making decisions regarding direct patient care. Additional responsibilities may include serving on committees and participating in quality improvement audits. The role requires weekdays only, with no holidays, weekends, or on-call duties. USPI partners with physicians and healthcare systems to provide ambulatory solutions, committed to efficient and clinically excellent surgical services and fostering an inclusive culture.

Requirements

  • Graduated from an accredited school of nursing
  • Current unrestricted RN license in the state
  • 1+ years of experience working as a registered nurse
  • Current American heart BLS certification

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred
  • ASC or Operating Room experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Organize and direct activities in accordance with nursing standards, Joint Commission, Medicare and all other applicable federal, state and local guidelines (Pre-op RN)
  • Care for all patients within the scope of practice for the facility (i.e. pediatric, adult, geriatric) (Pre-op RN)
  • Admit, evaluate, assess and teach the patient in order to fully prepare them for their procedure or surgery (Pre-op RN)
  • Perform CLIA waived laboratory testing required prior to surgery as ordered (Pre-op RN)
  • Communicate patient assessment information to the attending physician (Pre-op RN)
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee care for patients in the PACU department (PACU RN)
  • Provide care within nursing standards of practice and the policies of the Center (PACU RN)
  • Make decisions regarding direct patient care needs and communicate appropriate information to other team members and providers (PACU RN)
  • Serve on committees (additional responsibility as designated by manager)
  • Participate in quality improvement audits (additional responsibility as designated by manager)
  • Engage in other projects as designated by the manager
